Help Needed

Finance Committee:

The Finance Committee is seeking someone to fill the role of TBCO Treasurer. The role of the Treasurer is to ensure oversight of TBCO finances and liaise directly with the TBCO Board as a member of the Finance Committee. It is a requirement of the position that the Treasurer be a member of TBCO. While Treasurer experience is a requirement, a basic understanding of general accounting practices and some familiarity with financial statements would be an asset. Current members of the Finance Committee will be available to provide active support to the new Treasurer, and would be happy to provide mentoring and one-on-one training as required. The position is a volunteer role.

The Finance Committee is also seeking an individual who might be interested in learning the Bookkeeper role at TBCO.  The accounting at TCBO is accomplished using QuickBooks software, which is a popular and very effective small business accounting application. We have an opportunity for someone to receive friendly and unpressured hands-on, one-on-one training on this software on Sunday mornings at the church between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. The hope is that the trainee might in time be able to assist with this function on an ongoing basis.  This would be a wonderful opportunity for someone who is running a small business to obtain a solid grounding in basic bookkeeping from an experienced Chartered Accountant in a self paced learning environment.

If you are interested in learning more about either of these opportunities, please contact Kim Zinck, Chair, TBCO Finance Committee at 613-822-0974 or email
