Messy Spirituality (part 2)

The following quote is something I have been reflecting on this past week in preparation for our Sunday message. “One of the most insidious maladies of our time (is): the tendency in most of us to observe rather than act, avoid rather than participate, not do rather than do; the tendency to give in to the sly, negative, cautionary voices that constantly counsel us to be careful, to be controlled, to be wary and prudent and hesitant and guarded in our approach of this complicated thing called living. Arthur Gordon, a Touch of Wonder.

The Extended Family Makeover-Faith Begins at Home Series

For the past few weeks we have been looking at the importance of “Faith at Home”. Timothy demonstrates how important “Faith at Home” is. This week we will discover that as a Christian we can also be used by God to help with an “Extended Family Makeover”. Yes, God can use you to impact for eternity your extended loved ones.

The Family Makeover - 'Faith Begins at Home' series

Are there any false god’s kicking around out there? Could there be any hanging on your back? What about in your laneway? Have you looked in your closet lately; could there be a false god in there? Our Scripture for this Sunday teaches us that there is but one true God and we are to love Him with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength.

The Home Makeover - Faith Begins at Home series [audio]

For the next 5 weeks, our Sundays will focus on the theme, “Faith @ Home”. Please remember that this is a series for everyone, not just families with children. Whether you are a single-person, senior citizen, etc, we all need Christ at the center of the home we live in. According to USA Today, there are 28 forms of family that exist in our culture today. Every one of them, regardless of the family shape, size, age or demographic, needs Christ at the center.

Destiny - Week 2 [audio]

Does God have a plan for your life? Would you go so far as to say that He has a “destiny” for you? Last Sunday we discovered that God has stamped a destiny on our hearts, that there is something incredible that he wants to do in you and through you. There is an old Jewish Proverb that says, “Every person wears a coat and it’s got two messages, one in each pocket. In one pocket it says you are one of billions of people on the earth, like a grain of sand upon the sea shore. In the other pocket it is a message from the creator and it says, “I made the universe just for you, you’re special, you’re unique”. You have a destiny.
