We all know that God is a God of love. We are extremely comfortable hearing this truth. We loooooove this truth. This is the “Good News”. Did you know that there is “Bad News”.
This Sunday, I will be blessed with the opportunity to sit in the chairs with you and hear an awesome message from one of our own. This is the teaser I have been given for the message. The title is “living rich” Are you Rich? What happens when we go against God’s laws? Are you in the world or of the world? Is having wealth a bad thing?
There is a lot of confusion about what we are going to be talking about this Sunday. The confusion is around this, What is the primary purpose for being a Christian. If we understand this, everything else about the Christian life will make sense. Here is another way to ask the same question, “what would you say is the primary purpose of the Gospel”?
I think for some people, their experience of the church is a little like this where there are lots of things going on, lots of programs, lots of organization, and you can feel like you’re going through a revolving door and getting nowhere. Perhaps the person will ask, “Is any of this making a difference?” We all may want to ask ourselves; “The church certainly is keeping me busy but, am I really growing in my love for God and other people?”
It has been said that there are probably eight major religions in the world (Islam, Buddhism, Christianity etc). The big question we have to ask at some point is this, “ how do we know which of these if any of are true”. Are any of them true or are all of them a delusion?
