Sunday's A Coming - July 8 2010

My Dear Friends,

I am so excited regarding the next two weeks at Trinity as I anticipate the incredible activity of our Lord in our midst. I am convinced that it is highly possible that we will see a several people come to faith and many others experience a sudden spurt in Spiritual growth as the next two weeks unfold. What’s happening?

It all begins this Saturday when we set up a RV city in our South parking lot to house the our 24 visiting missionaries from Circleville Church USA (http://www.circlevillechurch.org/index.html). Our Sunday worship service should be awesome as we worship with our visitors and celebrate and praise God for what he has done in the past during our summer camps and pray for His anointing over the next two weeks. There will be lots of testimonies and celebrating this Sunday. To help welcome our guest we will be holding a potluck luncheon immediately after the service. Since we will be feeding ourselves and our guests it would be most helpful if you were to bring lots and lots of food. If your last name begins with A to M please bring sandwiches or other main dish type finger food and chips. If your last name begins with N to Z please bring a veggie plate and finger food dessert. If you are able, it would be great if you could stay behind after the luncheon to join us in a time of prayer for the following two weeks of camps. Here is what is happening over the next two weeks.

Our missionaries who have been trained and coached in running top level soccer camps, will be coaching us on how run one by running one every morning next week. This is our opportunity to discover firsthand how to use the world’s most popular sport for the glory of God. When our “volunteer” missionaries aren’t helping with the morning soccer program they will be assisting our property team with some much needed renovation around the church. One of the initiatives is to create additional space in our nursery for all those beautiful babies that keep showing up as well as additional office space. What a gift these folks are going to be. Imagine, they are taking their holiday time to come and serve us and our Lord in this manner. What a gift from God.

Regarding the afternoons next week, we will be hosting approximately 70 children for VBS. This is a significant increase from last year. God is good. The following week, we will be hosting our ever popular 4th week camp all day every day. For further details on these three camps (soccer, VBS, 4th Week) please click on the green tag on the right. It is not too late to help or, recruit campers. Why not go for it?

The following quote is something I have been reflecting on this past week in preparation for our Sunday message. “One of the most insidious maladies of our time (is): the tendency in most of us to observe rather than act, avoid rather than participate, not do rather than do; the tendency to give in to the sly, negative, cautionary voices that constantly counsel us to be careful, to be controlled, to be wary and prudent and hesitant and guarded in our approach of this complicated thing called living. Arthur Gordon, a Touch of Wonder. Over the next couple of weeks we as a church will act and participate in the spreading of the gospel to many who have never heard before. We will do it with passion and professionalism as we throw traditional caution to the wind. Over this time we will discover that small acts can and do make a huge difference in the quality of a person’s life in this world and where a person will spend eternity. Help us go for it for His glory.

See ya Sunday

God loves you and so do I

Shawn
