TRINITY BIBLE CHURCH
There's No Place Like Hope
In His Care Campaign Underway!
Our annual "In His Care" campaign is our December project under our "Forward Together Plan". This ministry has been actively reaching out our city's homeless for the past several years. The campaign’s objective is to raise money to pay for warm winter clothing that have been acquired over the course of the year for distribution to our city’s homeless when the weather turns cold. The items include toques, gloves, long johns, underwear, and thermal socks. Some extreme weather clothing is also acquired for those who do not seek shelter, even on the coldest nights.
We have partnered with Ottawa Innercity Ministries and Shepherds of Good Hope to ensure that these items get to those who need them. Our goal is to raise $10,000 in December, all of which will be used to cover the cost of the purchased winter wear. Please pray about whether you might be called to support this effort. For more information about how to give, visit our In His Care page.
At the end of December we will be saying farewell to Margo as our Office Administrator. We are thankful for her service and wish her all the best in her upcoming new role. She plans to remain an active, committed member of the church.
As a result of her scheduled departure, we are seeking to immediately fill the position of Office Administrator to allow time for transition and training. This is a part-time position in which the key responsibilities are to provide support to Pastor Matt so that the church is able to deliver impactful service options on Sunday and generally manage the church office.
A job description for the position will be posted on our website shortly. However, in the meantime interested persons are welcome to contact Karen, our Deacon of Human Resources. She would be delighted to provide more information.
We also have an opening for a part-time Director of Worship and Music. Karen would also be happy to answer any questions about this position. Details are posted on our Join Our Team page (hours and compensation as posted are currently under review).
Shoeboxes Are on Their Way!
Lianne, our Operation Christmas Child ministry leader, is very grateful for a very successful shoebox campaign. Her fearless team packed, loaded and delivered 1,098 shoeboxes - 777 of which came from Val and Hugh and approximately 145 from our congregation, including 31 from our Junior High Youth! All of the precious children - our 1,098 and more - who are every bit as anxious as our own children about COVID and the future, will receive love in the form of a shoebox and an invitation to hear the hope of Jesus Christ!!
Although the number of physical shoeboxes is down a bit countrywide this year, the number of virtually donated shoeboxes is up! This is quite an accomplishment given the unique year in which we find ourselves.
Thank you to all who gave and all who helped this year!
